Fresh fig spread
This simple fig spread recipe has only 3 ingredients—figs, honey or brown sugar and cornstarch—but it's big on fresh flavour. Add this delicious fig spread to toast, biscuits or barquettes or use as a sweet and savoury accompaniment to a cheese and cracker tray.

Ingredients
- 4 cups ripe fresh figs
- ¼ cup honey or brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Directions
- Puree figs in a food processor or blender.
- In medium saucepan, combine figs, honey (or brown sugar) and cornstarch.
- Bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Remove from heat. Spread will thicken as it cools. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
