Christmas cookie holiday popcorn

We love kettle corn, but this snicker doodle-flavoured treat takes the prize as our current favourite with its super-simple blend of cinnamon, vanilla, sugar and a pinch of salt.

Christmas cookie holiday popcorn

Ingredients

  • 6-8 cups stove-popped popcorn (we used ⅓ cup popcorn and 3 Tbsp. olive oil)
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • ½ tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp. powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt (regular table salt sticks to the popcorn much better than other salts)

Directions

  1. Empty the popcorn into a large bowl.
  2. Melt butter in a cool to warm pan, and add vanilla.
  3. Add the butter mixture to the popcorn, stirring well with a large spoon.
  4. In a small dish, mix the cinnamon, all three sugars and the salt.
  5. Sprinkle ⅓ of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the popcorn, and mix with a large spoon. Repeat, adding ⅓ of the mixture at a time and stirring after each.
